E. Valentine Banks, Dip. Bkg - Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Banks has been a Director of NBA since 1990 and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of NBA. He began his banking career with Bank of America in 1969. He is a Director of National Commercial Data Services Ltd. and Chairman of the Caribbean Credit Card Corporation. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks, a member of the Economic Planning Unit of the Government of Anguilla, a Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Anguilla Rotary Club and Paul Harris Fellow. He is the Vice President of the West Indies Cricket Board Inc. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A. and currently serves as a member of the Advisory Council of the said School.
Selwyn E. Horsford, B.Sc. - Chief Corporate Officer
Mr. Horsford holds an Associates Degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University and a B.Sc. in Business Management from South-Eastern University in the USA. He was also awarded the Certificate of Academic Excellence in Liberal Studies by the South-Eastern University. Mr. Horsford is an experienced Banker with over 34 years in Banking. His banking career started at the local branch of Bank of America in Anguilla, where he elevated from the position of Teller in 1968 to Manager in 1975. His tenure with Bank of America ended on 7th March 1985 when the National Bank of Anguilla bought the Bank of America’s local branch.
Mr. Horsford was one of the Managers of National Bank when it began operations in 1985. Today, Mr. Horsford is NBA's Chief Corporate Officer and a member of the CEO’s Inner Team. He also served as Director on the Board of Directors of the Bank since its inception in 1985. Mr. Horsford is also currently the Chairman of Malliouhana-Anico Insurance Company Ltd. Previously, he served as a Director of the National Investment Company of Anguilla Ltd. Anguilla National Insurance Company. He also served as a member of the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and a representative of the Bank of the Anguilla Financial Services Association.
Ian E Ferguson, BA, MBA, CPA - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Ian Ferguson graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands in 1984 with a BA (SUMMA CUM LAUDE) Degree in Accounting. In September 1984, he joined the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank as an Operations Officer in the Banking and Operations Department, while on the Bank's staff, he also completed an MBA in Finance and his professional certification in Accounting. Before leaving the ECCB in 1997 to join Cable & Wireless St. Kitts & Nevis Ltd., he held senior positions in the area of Finance, including Director of Banking & Operations, as well as, Advisor Money and Capital Market Development. Prior to taking up his current position in November 2001 as Chief Financial Officer at the National Bank of Anguilla Ltd, he held the positions of Head of Finance & Company Secretary at Cable & Wireless, St. Kitts and Nevis Ltd.
Ms. Marisa Gumbs, B.S. – Manager (West End Branch)
Ms. Marisa Gumbs commenced her employment at the National Bank of Anguilla Ltd as a teller, shortly after graduating from the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School in 1997. In January 2001, Ms. Gumbs commenced her studies at Barry University in Miami Florida in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing. Ms. Gumbs graduated Magna Cumme Laude in May 2004 along with the honors of Most Outstanding Marketing Student that year. She began working in NBA’s Marketing Department in May 2004 where she held the appointment of Market Research and Business Development Officer. Ms. Gumbs is currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A. She is expected to conclude her studies in 2009. In November 2008, Ms. Gumbs was appointed as the Manager of the Bank’s West End Branch.
L. Icilma Hazell - Manager Compliance
Ms. Hazell began her banking career with Bank of America in 1973 and transferred to NBA in 1985 when it acquired Bank of America's Anguilla operations. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A.
L. Bernadine Horsford - Manager Loans
Ms. Horsford began her banking career with Bank of America in 1967 and transferred to NBA in 1985 when it acquired Bank of America's Anguilla operations. She has participated in various short courses and attachments locally and overseas.
Jo-Anne Hodge, A.A., Dip. Bkg - Manager Internal Audit
Mrs. Hodge began working at NBA in 1989. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She holds an A.A. (with distinction) in Accounting from the College of The Bahamas and a Post-graduate Diploma from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. She is presently pursuing the Associate Chartered Management Accountant designation.
Mrs. Lyndell Simpson – Manager Human Resources
Mrs. Simpson began working at the NBA in 2008. She graduated from the University of Wales, Newport in 2000 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. In 1991 she earned a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Economics and Management from the University of the West Indies, Mona. Prior to joining the NBA, Mrs. Simpson held the positions of Permanent Secretary, Communication and Works, Permanent Secretary, Health and Community Services and Human Resources Manager in the Montserrat Public Service
Caroll Morton - Assistant Manager – Retail Banking Department
Miss Morton began her Banking Career with Bank of America in 1980 and transferred to NBA in 1985 when it acquired Bank of America’s Anguilla Operations. Apart from participating in various seminars and short courses overseas and locally, she holds a Post Graduate Diploma from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, USA..
Pamela Riley, B.A. - Manager, NBA (Private Banking & Trust) Ltd
Ms. Riley began working at NBA in 1999. Prior to this, she worked in the commercial banking arena, both locally and abroad (Canada and Barbados). In addition to attending various short-term courses in the Caribbean, she holds a B.A. in Accounting & Finance from Ryerson Polytechnic University. She is presently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
